If science is the new religion; then what does the new religious art look like?

true or false

1. fine arts have always provided the venue for man's highest spiritual strivings.

2. is has always been the role of the arts to realize, in physical media, the ideals of what man could and should be.

3. art sets down a distilled expression of the human spirit, one that's tangible in form and accessible to all.

4. great art not only brings forth the ordered essence of human experience , but of the world se live in, this is what we call beauty.

Future Art

started reading a book, "The Extreme Future" (Top trends that will reshape the world for the next 5-19-and 20 years) by James Canton today. He's a think tank futurist. Some good thinking; but it occurred to me that he doesn't touch on art or creative endeavors (while other things may effect art.
So, thought I'd start a blog - or discussion as to the Future of Art or Art of the Future (same thing?)
Seems to me that many (now commercially successful) artists started or picked up on a trend - worke… Continue

John,

My name is Matt Menietti, the Marketing/Development Coordinator at America SCORES St. Louis.

We’re hosting an art show and fundraiser on March 20, 2010, and would like for you to submit one or more pieces to our event. I’ve included some information below. Please contact me if you have any questions about the project. Thanks in advance!

--Matt

The Inspired Art Project enlists local artists to create and submit original works, inspired by original poetry written by students participating in America SCORES St. Louis. Started by another SCORES affiliate in the Bay Area, the Inspired Art Project is an exciting national model for community collaboration.

On, March 20, 2010, the selected artwork will be collected and displayed at our annual Inspired Art Show. Proceeds from the event will support America SCORES St. Louis, a unique, comprehensive, youth development program which uses the tools of poetry, soccer, creative expression and service-learning to equip and inspire urban youth to lead healthy lifestyles, become engaged students, and grow into leaders for their schools and communities.

Interested artists need to register ASAP in order to submit their work to the event. Artists may choose to collect 25% of the final auction price for their work, or can donate all or a portion of the commission back to America SCORES St. Louis. Other artist benefits include:

• Free admission to the event (includes two complimentary drinks)
• Free guest tickets (up to 3) to the event
• Listing on our event website, www.inspiredartstlouis.org
• Listing in our event program

For more information, please visit www.inspiredartstlouis.org or call Matt at 314-533-0302.

try out the new Teachers' Recycle Center which has a new location at the old Crestwood Mall on Watson Rd. They just opened up some 20 art spaces there including a Laumeier space, a few theaters and some arts educational sites. I was going to show my tv sculpture there for the grand opening on May 2nd. It's quite a neat space, especially with the large stores and the fact that the mall is now pretty much closed except for restaurants and some retail. The teachers' recycle center accepts some bigger stuff like computers. When i was soliciting for donations of tv's, i had a lot of offers of computer monitors, which I didn't need.
Back to your art - have you done any readings of or seen any shows with Antony Gormley's stuff? British sculptor. varied stuff, but a series of bronze casted full body casts and then of course, Anther Place, 100 cast iron casts set permanently on the coast of England somewhere.

Fantastic icon, Jesus figure piece. Did you construct all of that on your own? wonderful figure drawings. I like your layers of meaning and content, especially with the piece with the female nude's back. Great contrast in the lower part right underneath her body. Her body just sits on that ledge and anchors the whole piece

Also you have to request me as a friend to see the blog I think. Go to your find a friend and type in Janiece Janiece and request a friendship. I'll accept and then you can look at it by going to my site and clicking on my blog.

I don't do a lot of public reading anymore. I use to and I was pretty hot. FYI size only matters if you don't know what to do with it. I've hung on to some real losers for way too long because they ate pussy real good. So don't fret about how little you got..it ain't all about that. Another clue, with a woman it's about all the sweet things you do when your not having sex. The way you kiss her neck from behind when she's doing dishes and such. I'm not talking all over her, just a few subtle gestures throughout the day, a compliment on her smell or how you love to look at her. Be creative and size won't play a part at all.
