- About Me:
- The Soulard Art Market & Contemporary Gallery (S.A.M.) features monthly exhibitions in our main gallery that showcase a rotating selection of the area’s most talented artists. Exhibitions and events are free and open to the public, (unless otherwise noted) and most artwork is offered for sale. The gallery is operated by a core group of twelve resident artists who each maintain a personal display space. They are home to some of the area’s most respected artists working in a variety of media including: drawing, painting, digital and traditional photography, mixed media, sculpture and jewelry. Located in the heart of Soulard on the corner of 12th and Russell, Soulard Art Market is a fantastic arts destination.
In partnership with the gallery is Youth Education and Health in Soulard. YEHS is a nonprofit community‐based organization that was founded in 1972 to develop needed services in order to save the historic Soulard neighborhood from being torn down and to prevent the displacement of low and moderate income residents of the area. YEHS also hosts summer employment/training, tutoring, and recreation for disadvantaged St. Louis youths.
