If an artist/art student, my primary medium or mixed media is:
Chiaroscuro/ink artist that will draw on pretty much everything (arms, coffee cups, paper towels, handmade paper, etc.), I dabbled in photography until losing my camera in a rental car in Phoenix, AZ. Attended SIU-Edwardsville for a year, went bust, and subsequently worked three years full-time in a supermarket bakery decorating cakes, hiding messages in mediocre frozen starter dough, and bringing some semblance of originality to the doughnut case. I recently expatriated to the South :-) (moving to Valdosta, GA), and-- being decidedly broke-- turned to writing poetry and making music as my primary medium. Thoroughly enchanted with sea, trees and sky, I feel nature and its conflict (and surprising symbioses) with human design primarily drives my work. I am a proud third-generation mutt of Hispanic heritage with one son, J.Q. I believes the combination of my biology and having a little being romping around inspires my work more greatly than any particular movement or group of great works.
