"Cindy, It was great seeing you again tonight at the NAC reception.  Your works are lovely, I especially like the colored pencil drawing of the ducks in a row.  And I adore your photographs of the Chinese lantern festival and hope you do…"

About Me:
I am a predominantly conceptual artist working in a wide variety of media to convey my ideas. My work has been exhibited nationally, although I mainly show between St. Louis, Missouri and Chicago, Illinois.
If you're an artist/art student, don't forget to add a brief artist's statement and photos of three of your art works to either your "comment wall" or "text box." This is your basic St. Louis Art Directory information. Later you may add images, videos, post a blog, and much more.
If you are looking for me on Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Twitter or any of the other social networking sites, please be aware that I am not active in social media. I feel that too much private information can be too easily disseminated through these outlets and question the integrity of what that information is being used for. I also feel that I would rather engage in more personal conversations and individual interactions that don’t involve wall spreads, fan pages, propaganda, thumbs ups, likes, dislikes or other such attention-based devices. By all means, I invite you to continue to include me in your social networking posts to celebrate successes, invite me to shows or just say “hi”, but please don’t take it personally if I don’t respond.

About My Art:

Much of my work is geared towards getting viewers thinking about things anew, from institutional critique to challenging stereotypes and confronting taboos to philosophical speculation on the nature of memory. I tend to use my art to work through things in a cathartic manner, and I often incorporate humor in my work in doing so. Every so often I like to focus on just making something beautiful, so I also create more decorative paintings en plein air and jewelry.

Of course what makes you so compelling is the fact that you are so very traditional. HA -
