"Thanks, im very impressed with your work too! Really kinda makes me wonder why im in the fine arts when that not only looks more fun, but looks more applicable to real life man ! I mean, fine art is, but i would love to work for Disney, or have my…"
If an artist/art student, my primary medium or mixed media is:
I am a current student at Fontbonne University in St.Louis working towards my Bachelors degree in Fine Art. I have earned my Associates in Fine Art at Southwestern IL college in Belleville IL. I am an artist, supporter of local art and often find myself trapped in my own box of creativity! I'm sure you other artists can relate. I have goals to become a professional exibiting artists, continue to network, share ideas, and gain critical feedback of my work (I welcome it!) Lastly, there are many routes one can take as an artist, but to keep from elaborating too long I will be teaching college courses in a few years and have gained an interest in digital art as well. Today, my goals are to simply make a living to support my art career, show in as many galleries as I can and push myself to be the best artist I can be. Thank you for taking the time to read about me, I look forward to networking and making new friends!
If you're an artist/art student, don't forget to add a brief artist's statement and photos of three of your art works to either your "comment wall" or "text box." This is your basic St. Louis Art Directory information. Later you may add images, videos, post a blog, and much more.
Though I feel I could write about my art for hours and my artist statement has been written over time and time again, currently I will shorten it as short and simple as possible. My artist statement is as follows: I am currently still finding who I am as an artist, traditionally trained I have yet to branch out into my own artistic expression completely. Currently I seek to portray qualities about what I paint and draw that is not visible to the average human eye, wether it is physical, emotional, conceptual, or metaphorical. I often find myself thinking in a metaphorical manner. I aim to bring my own artistic expression to my most recent work, in which form that comes is uncertain in each and every painting I do- the environment and variables at play while I work on a piece play into how the work turns out which is why I say im uncertain. Im simply exploring myself and my work as I feel most artists my age do as well.
