Event Description

"Taking a Ride"

an exhibition of new paintings and drawings

May 15 - July 5

Please join us for an exhibition of new paintings and drawings by
Peter Charlap. Titled, "Taking a Ride," the show presents works
exploring the iconic theme of an automobile excursion involving
familiar sites beyond suburbia. The charcoal drawings are very
expressionistic, showing figures taking the ride while the paintings
depict the scenes viewed along the way. Charlap currently lives in
New York, is a professor at Vassar college and primarily exhibits in
the New York area and in St. Louis. This is Charlap's seventh solo
exhibition at Atrium. The exhibition opens with a reception for the
artist Friday, May 15th, 6 - 8 p.m. and will continue through July
5th. Also showing on the salon level will be a group photography
installation featuring seven artists.

And more! Euclid/McPherson businesses are now sponsoring a
special program FABULOUS FRIDAYS, May through September featuring
live entertainment on the street and extended business hours, 5 - 10
p.m. Please come and enjoy the evening.
