Event Description

Portfolio Gallery is hosting a reception and showing of the paintings and artwork of Master artist Dean Mitchell. Mitchell’s’ art has been exhibited and collected by numerous museums including the St. Louis Art Museum, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, American Jazz Museum, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, as well as prominent galleries across the nation. Prices for Mitchell’s work range from $10,000-$40,000.
He also was the artist and designer for the Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong postage stamp and six others issued by the U. S. Postal Service.

The exciting news about our show for Dean is that a DVD by a New York production crew will be shown Saturday March 28, 2009 at 4:00 PM as part of his gallery talk (4-6 PM) The DVD will focus on an hour-long documentary to be aired on PBS Dean Mitchell: The Making of a Master
